In Season Opener
The Rappahannock Chiefs and the Flint Hill Athletic Club will open their 1955 baseball season this Sunday afternoon at 2:30 when they meet on the Chief*-> diamond near Washington. " The Chiefs, a local team sponsored by the Sperryville and Washington Fire Companies, is composed of players from these 2 towns and vicinity. They finished in second place in the Shenandoah League in the 1954 season. The Athletic Club draws its players from the Flint Hill area. Last year they donated a large part of their proceeds to the Flint Hill Fire Company. ■ - ‘ Friendly rivalry runs high between these 2 local teams, both members of the Shenandoah League. Make your plans now to haye an evening of fun at the ball game. You’ll be supporting your county fire companies at the same time. ,
Polio Vaccine s Given To Children In County Schools
With a qhick brush of the alcohol swab on a bared arm and a “now-this-won't-hurt-much,” the Polio Vaccine Clinics begin in the County this morning when Dr. J. P. | Snead will vaccinate the Rappahannock County High Schhool children and the Sperryville Elementary School 'youths at the Sperryville school. Dr. Edwin Eastham and Dr. Rubert Quaintance will preside at the Flint Hill School this evening! and at the Washington Colored School tomorrow. (All colored children in area wttl be vaccinated at j Washington Colored School, Friday)
