There will be Jive (5) voting places in Rappahannock County on August 26 when farmers elect ‘ASC Community Committeemen to serve the year beginning September 1, 1955, Mr. Gore, ASC County Office Manager, has announced. Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to ,5 p.m. at the following places i Bradford’s Store, Flint Hill, for the Wakefield District; Hack ley's Store, Amissville, for the Jackson District; Dulaney’s Store, Woodville, for the Stonewall District ; Schwartz’s Store, Sperryville for the Piedmont District and the Rappahannock A6C County Office, Washington, for the Hampton District.
Farmers will vote for five per-' son*—either those listed as nominees, or others whose names may be written in on blank spaces on the ballot.
Farmers are eligible to vote who are of legal voting age, and who have an interest in a farm orr which one of the approved ACP practices is being carried out this year, or who are eligible for a cooperator’s loan or other price supports. In addition, persons under voting age may vote if they are in charge of fanning operations on the entire farm. Tenants and sharecroppers may vote if they' are otherwise eligible.
Mr. Gore urged all farmers to vote, pointing out that committeemen will have important roles in die administration of ACP, Marketing Quota and Price Support Programs.” ASC programs are of vital importance to almost every farm in this county, and the necessity of having good committeemen to administer these programs cannot be over-emphasized,” he said.
