Eugene Beard, of Luray, yesterday filed as an independent candidate to oppose Senator George S. Aldhizer, Democratic nominee, in the November election.
A petition, bearing the name* of qualified voters accompanied the notice of his candidacy. He also filed at Luray, Front Royal and Washington.
