I do not identify myself as an Independent Democrat as stated in the Harrisonburg Daily News-Record of Saturday, July 23, for Hie word Democrat, in Virginia, has become a misnomer and the so-called Democratic Party of Virginia has departed from the ideologies of Thomas Jefferson as formerly expressed through the party founded by him; therefore I am calling upon the News-Record to make this correction to ‘keep,ihe record straight’. I have not voted in the Democratic Party Primary for the past eight or more years.' ■
