Spell Accidents
Four accidents occured-.in the vicinity of Sperryville, Sunday and Monday sending the county ambulances to the Warren Memorial Hospital on 3 calls. Trooper John L. Lowman, investigating officer, reports the first accident as occurring at 5:25, Sunday evening in front of Bradley Atkins’ Service Station. The cars involved included a 1952 Ford Ranch Wagon, driven by Charles Jacob Smith, Jr., a 1950 Chevrolet, operated by Arthur J. Smith of Arlington and a Pontiac, driven by Morgan Johnston, all headed north (towards Washington) on Rt. 211. Arthur Smith struck the rear of the station wagon, knocking it, in turn, into the reaa of the Pontiac, which was halted for a left turn.
