Mb. Annie Taylor Bruce, wife of the late Silas G. Bruce of Sperryville, died early Thursday . morning, Aughst 11, at the residence of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. - C. Ennis Brown after an illness of 3 weeks.
She was 87 years of age and was ■, born and raised in Rappahannock County, being the daughter of the late George Taylor and the late Mary Best Taylor. She was highly esteemed by a large circle of friends, which: had widened throughout the years.
Mrs. Bruce is surwed by 4 daughters: Mrs. C. Ennis Brown of Sperryville; Mrs. Gordon Wayland of Castleton; Mrs. Cleveland Griffith of Culpeper and Mrs. Mack Trotter of i North Hollywood, California; five sons, Charlie T. Bruce of Washington, Bennie and Robert of Front Royal, Edward and Bryah of Overhills, N. C. Also by 26 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. One daughter, TShith Griffith, died some years ago. ;
Funeral services were conducted Saturday evening, August 13 at 2 o’clock from the Sperryville Methodist Church where Mrs. Bruce, was a devoted and lifelong member. The pastor of the church, the Reverend A. D. Good son, of'fioiated wth interment in the famly section of the Sperryville Cemetery. '
Because of her love and devotion for the church, it was requested that anyone wishing to bring flowers, would make a 'contribu- \ turn in money to the work and improvement of the Methodist a Church. ,
