I believe the vaccine will be available this fall and will fulfill its bright promise in the prevention and control of a disease that has left many children and young adults pitifully crippled for generations.
A few cases of the contagious disease called Infectious Hepatitis; this disease is not controlled by antibiotics, occured in the county, but were controlled temporarily by gamma globulin.
Immunization clinics were held during the year by the Health Department for protection against smallpox, diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough. The Health Department is trying to improve ^the importance of early immunization, of booster shots, and of fe-vaccination to beep up immunity. Prompt ■ use of immune globulin supplied by the Health Department to physician? held complications to a minimum in many cases of measles.
