TUBERCULOSIS CON1RUL

Tuberculosis remains a public enemy in . Rappahannock County. There are 26 cases of active and arrested tuberculosis in; the county. It has been estimated that for every knownjcase of TB, there is one unknown case. These unknown cases do not know they are sick, but are going ahead rapidly spreading the disease to other people and beipg the! disease j to other people and becoming more and more sick themselves. This is a continuing sad state of affairs, inspite of the combined efforts of . the County Tuberculosis Association and The County Health Department. 417 people had a, repeat x-ray this year, many times more have never had an x-ray and do not know the value of getting one. A mobile 70 mm x-ray unit was brought into the county during the last year. An excellent publicity campaign was put on by the Tuberculosis Association. Several unsuspected cases of tuberculosis, as well as other diseases and abnormalities, were discovered.
