Asked about the change in children’s “learning” and “behaving” in .her. years of teaching, Miss Della , replies that children are much the same 1 generation to another. Some put their mind to it, others wait to concentrate at recess, while still others never learn to sacrifice baseball for books. The new books, however, she states, seem easier for a child to learn from.
When I talked with Miss Della after school, in her classroom, last week, she said—What’s interesting about me—I haven’t done anything to write about.” But you have, Miss Della, something that is hard to capture on paper. Those grown up generations of children that you once taught could tell you too. But most convincingly is it told, Miss Della, by a well scrubbed apple and a shy smile from today’s children.
