The Methodist Women’s Society of Christian Service met in the home of Mrs. Fannie Eastham. Thursday evening;.
Mrs. Paul Miller, worship chairman, conducted a worship service and Mrs. Eastham discussed the missionary work done in Korea during and since the war. She brought out the fact that the American soldiers did much missionary work in developing goodwill among the Koreans and helping them in their churches and schools. These were not professional missionary workers but people of Christian character who wanted to help.
Mrs. Frank Cary and Mrs. Galley Smith, Jr. assisted Mrs. Eastham.
The observance of the week of prayer and self denial was planned for the fifth Sunday night in October, to be held at the church.
The October meeting of the society will be held in the home of Mrs. H. S. Barksdale.
Mrs. Robert Clatterbuck is responsible for placing flowers in the church for each service in September and Mrs. Barksdale will furnish the flowers for October.
Miss Nannie Dearing of Huntly was a guest at the meeting.
