The Slate Mills Baptist Women’s Missionary Union observed tl|e annual Season of Prayer for State Missions with a special service at the church Wednesday evening, with the theme “Lift Up < Your Eyes and Look.” Those taking part included the W. M. U. President, Mrs. Audie L. Weaver, Rev. Clem Walters, Mrs. C. M. Ramey,-Mrs. G. A. Nethers, Miss Lizzie Miller, Miss Jean Kennedy (representing the Girls’ Auxiliary) and Richard Jenkins (representing the Silas Bruce Chapter of Royal Ambassadors). Guest speaker Was Miss Russell Colvin of Culpeper, Superintendent of the Shiloh Association W.M.U. At the close of the meeting a special thank offering was taken for State Missions work.

Rev. J. Harry Haines, a native of New Zealand, but now a citizen of the United States, will be the guest speaker at the Charlottesville District Missionary Institutes of the Methodist Church, Thursday, October 6, 10:00 aon. at Trinity Methodist Church, Orange, Virginia and 7 JO pan. at the Methodist Church in Lovingston.

Delegates from all the churches of the Charlottesville District are expected to be in attendance.
