First Dance QUESTION: Will you please tell me whether the wedding guests should wait until the bridal party dances first at the reception, or may every one join them on the dance flodk and not wait for them to dance first?

ANSWER: If a dance floor is cleared and the orchestra plays dance music while the bride and groom are still receiving, guests are expected to dance. On many occasions, the orchestra does not play dance music until the bride and groom are ready to dance. In this case, they dance once around the floor and then the ushers and bridesmaids join them, and after that any guests who want to dance do so.
