The revised farm legislation which passed the House last week did not carry the high rigid price supports on basic crops which were the principal reason for President Eisenhower’s veto of the earlier bill.
Although a number of the serious objections to the first farm bill were removed, and several provisions of potential benefit to Virginia farmers were added, the bipartisan Virgnia support which the measure received on the House roll call should not be interpreted as necessarily enthusiastic support.
