Mamie F. Wharton
Mrs. Mamie Fincham Wharton, aged 65 died suddenly at her home here on February 20, 1957, of a heart attack. She had been in ill health for several months.
Mrs. Wharton was born and lived her entire life in Rappahannock County and was a member of the Church of the Brethren.
On January 12, 1912 she was married to Gilbert Gibson Wharton, who died several years ago. She is survived by two sons and four daughters. Gibson Wharton at home, and B. B. Wharton of Falls Church, Va.; Mrs. Irving Sisk of Washington, Va., Mrs. L. E. Frazier of Fairfax, Va., and Mrs. Robert W. Brown of Sperryville, and Mrs. William Groves of Bealton.Va.
Funeral services were conducted on February 22, 1957 by the Rev. John D. Divers and interment was in the Masonic Cemetery.
The active pallbearers were W. C. Campbell, D. D. Miller, Guy Lillard, T. C. Lea, I. H. Beahm, Walter Lillard and J. W. Price.
Friends of the family acted as honorary pall bearers.
