An example of this so-called “superhighway” mileage is the smooth and impressive Harrisonburg bypass. In driving over it, one can see the “limited-access” -principle in practice, although, of course, more access is provided on such a bypass road than contemplated in open country. Little country roads, leading away from the city bustle, are overpassed; so is the single-tracked railroad. There are no intersections..only “interchanges” of the cloverleaf type.' Traffic moves swiftly and safely over this wide dual highway, with its generous grass center strip. There is no question that such a road moves traffic swiftly and in driving cpmfort.
