A tenant chouse on the farm of James W. Fletcher at Sperryville was damaged by fire Thursday, October 29 to an extent of about $600. The building was saved by the combined efforts of the Sperryville and Washington Fire Companies.

Census Takers Start Work
November 11th
Reid work in the 1959 Census of Agriculture gets underway locally on November 11, 1959 when a force of census takers will start visiting every farm in the area, it was announced today by Field Director John G. Gihson of the Census Bureau’s Regional Office at Philadelphia.
Farm census questionnaires have been mailed to all farm operators. Continued on page ten
