William Allije Alther of Amissvrlle died Saturday, October 24 in Staunton. He was 91 years of
age. I
A native an0 resident of Rappahannock County, Mr. Alther was a son of the late Jake Alther and Garinda Lillard Alther. His wife is deceased.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, October 27 at 2 KX) p.m. from the Geest Funeral Chapel with interment in the Moore Cemetery at Massanover. The Rev. John Hodge conducted die last rites.
He is survived by two sons John W. Aitiier and Robert M. Alther both of Washington, D. C.; one daughter, Mrst Madeline Jenkins, of Castleton; and eight grandchildren. Also surviving is one bro-, ther, David Alther of Washington, Va.
Pallbearers were Wally Alther, John Alther, Willie Alther, Roy Mills and C. M. Brown.
