Latest reports indicate that the Merrymakers on (Halloween confined themselves_mostly—to die “Trick-or-Treat” method of hav-/ ing fun. However, the Jack-o-Lanterns, and they were all around the town, seemed to be constantly fussing. No two could get close together without one or the other starts ing an argument. And the revelers were not above eaves dropping. As you never can tell what strange sights you will see.. ..or what weird sounds you will hear oh. Halloween.
Those who listened in at the home of Mr. and Mrs .Charlie Bruce, where two Jack-o-Lanterns, one very large and slick, the other small, were having a heated argument, were amazed to hear the big one say to the little one, “Shut up, you are just a country pumpkin”.
“And just who are you?” the little one asked. “We both grew in Merrill’s big pumpkin patch”.
“So we did..so we did”, answered the big one, “But there is a difference_a big difference. I, you see, was selected, along with other fine ones for the Great Trip to Washington, D. C. A whole truck load of us toured the big city and all the places around. We saw the sights and got acquainted with all the City Pumpkins. A wonderful experience I tell you. So you see, now I am educated.traveled .and you are just a country pumpkin.”
“Oh, is that so,” replied the little one, “Why didn’t you stay with your grand city friends?”
