From Sweden comes the custom of the Advent Crown, a hanging wreath with four white candles, one to be lighted each Sunday durAdvent. Also Swedish is the Lucia festival for which one girl is chosen Lucia Bride, crowned with five lighted candles in a wreath, and attended by other girls dressed in white. They sing in honor of Saint Lucia, the Saint of the lights. No colored lights are used on the trees, only white bulbs which are rfiost like the candles.
I will be able to enjoy some features of an English Christmas. I am in a carol singing group of students from England, Scotland, Ireland, Denmark, America and Canada. The English Church will hold the traditional nine lessons in car- - ols which lest everyone from the smallest choir boy to the bishop take part in reading and explaining the Christmas Scripture^
The Danes have carols and Christmas Psalms. As one of the gayer songs says, “Jule was long and costs much money,” and another, “Jule lasted until Easter.”
