Washington—Wc have been considering, in this space, some of the many inequities and discriminations in our federal income tax structure, as laid bare in the current testimony of .tax specialists before the Committee on Ways and Means of the House qf Representatives. As our study of possibly tax reforms is in an early stage, and no specific legislation is up for active consideration at this time, it should nottbe assumed that mention of a particular instance of favored treatment under the tax laws necessarily indicates my commitment to a specific change in the law.
