Accidents Reported

Over Weekend

Thursday, March 24. about 3 50 pm. on Route 522 in front of the Sperryville Corner Store, two vehicles, a 1957 Chevrolet sedan, owned and operated by James Roles Brown of Sperryville, and a 1959 G.M.C. truck, operated by Russell Wade Jenkins, and owned by C. R. Dodson of Culpeper. The vehicles met on the corner, the truck apparently cut the comer too short, striking the front of the Brown car.

Approximately $250.00 damage was done. No charges were placed.

Sunday, March 27, at 7-20 pm. on Route 211 at Amissville, just west Qf Hackley’s Store, a 1956 Buick sedan, owned and operated by Buford Glenn Stooksbury, of Concord, Tenn. and a 1951 Chevrolet sedan, owned and operated by William Edward Scott of Amissville. collided. The two cars met on a slight curve and sideswiped. Approximately $1,800 damage to the two cars. Stooksibury was taken to Fauquier hospital by the Washington Rescue Squad, where he was treated for severe lacerations of the left arm and released. Scott was charged with reckless driving and driving under the influence. W. A. Buntin was the investigating officer.
