Rack in tthe '40's a Sheep Day was held at our High School. A part of the program was devoted to the value of performance records on each ewe; using thesfe records in selection of replacement ewes, etc. Remember? Did any of you pick up the idea and put the records to work ?
Ry chance I read an editorial in the Feb. 19th issue of the Drovers Journal. "Records on Ewes Pay Dividends”. A Wisconsin farmer told a farm audience of his experience with record-keeping and selection in a flock of 200 ewes over the past half dozen years. Through this method of culling and selection he was able to achieve “steady and quite rapid improvement.”
