Miss Shirley Elaine Burke of Woodville, Va. is the recipient of the Nursing Scholarship given by the Front Royal-Warren-Rappahannock Tuberculosis Association, it was announced today by Mrs. Ixslie Fox Keyser, Chairman of the Health Education Committee.

Miss Burke lives with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Burke and will graduate from Rappahannock County High School in June, three years, she has served as class treasurer during her Junior and Senior years, been a member of the Varsity Club, Glee Club, Library Club and belongs to the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, being active in the Young Woman’s Auxiliary. She has been in charge of the ice cream concession at her school during her high school term.

Miss Burke said, “I would like to specialize in a certain field of nursing after 1 train in the general field.”

Judges of the applications were Dr. Dennis P.' McCarty, Mrs* Carl Parrish and Miss Mae Burke Fox. The scholarship is for $100.

May Day — Health-Day Program At Sperryville

A May Day, Health Day program will be held at the Sperryville Elementary School Wednesday and Thursday, May 11th and 12th^at 1:15 p.m. Whenever possible it is preferred to have visitors attend the program on Thursday.
