Aglow For Hunt Ball
A soft reflection from the lighted pool cast a warm glow of welcome to the two-hundred and forty guests at Meadow Brook Hall, the lovely country place of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Duncan near Flint Hill, where the Rappahannock Hunt Club held its annual Hunt Ball Saturday evening, April 30.
At the door guests were greeted by Mrs. Joseph Pauze and Mrs. N. K. G. Tholand of the dance Committee and in the living room, Joint Masters of the Hunt, J. W. Fletcher and John R. DeBergh, with their charming wives extended a welcome.
At nine o’clock a buffet was served by candlelight in the flower decked dining room, heavy with the scent of lilacs.
From the ball room floated the melodious strains of Deveron’s Orchestra, where the evening dress of the guests intermingled with the traditional Scarlet Coats of hunt members was picturesque.
