Mrs. Caroline Atkins
Mrs. Martha Caroline Atkins, wife of Jeremiah Atkina of Axnissville, died Friday, April 29 at her residence. She was 81 years of age.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. B. Frank Cooke and Mrs. Levi Atkins, both of Amissville; two sons, Jeremiah Atkins, Jr. of Culpeper and Roadcap Atkins of Amissville; Two sisters, Mrs.. Madison Pomeroy of Front Royal and Mrs. Grover Atkins of Flint Hill; a brother Clarence Dodson of Washington, Leedy Pullen of Arlington and Emanuel Pullen of Amissville; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Daughter of the late John S. and Cora Alice Dodson, Mrs. Atkins was a native of Rappahannock County. She was a member of the Brethern Church, formerly located in Sperryville.
A funeral service was held Sunday, May 1 from the Geest Funeral Chapel, with Rev. John B. Hodge conducting the last rites. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Elmer Jenkins, Bradley Dodson, M. H. Brady, James Kinsey, Stanish Riley, Ray Atkins and Clifton Clark.
