Donkey Baseball Game
A benefit Donkey Baseball game will be played Saturday June, 4 beginning at 8 p.m. at Moffett’s field in Washington. Admission is 35c and 75c and proceeds will go to the Washington Rescue Squad.
Hikers Will Climb Stony Man Mountain Sunday
Members of the Rappahannock Hiking Club will meet Sunday at Sperryville School at 1:30 for a trek up Stony Man Mountain on Skyline Drive. Anyone wishing to join the hikers, may be at Sperryville at the appointed time.
It is advisable to bring along a sandwich and your canteen.
Annual Red Cross
Meeting Held
Tuesday, May 24, the Fauquier Chapter of the American Red Cross held its annual meeting in the parish house of St. James Church in Warren ton.
Officers for the coming year were elected as follows: Mrs. Frederick Wachtmeister, chairmar»; Mrs. J. L. B. Bentley, 1st vice chairman; Mrs. John Cutting, 2nd vice chairman; Mrs. J. O. Hodgkin, III, secretary; M. J. O’ Connell, treasurer.
Elected to the Board of Directors were Gen. Lemuel Shepherd, Mr. Isham Keith, Mrs. J. O. Hodgkin, III, Mrs. NilsTholand, Mrs. Arthur Charrington, and Miss Dru Austin, who will represent the Junior Red Cross on the Board.
The by-laws for the recently organized chapter were ratified by the membership.
