Atlrihs car, careened off the right hand side of the road and turned over. Jim Bo Smedley, a passenger in the Estes car was taken to Warren Memorial Hospital by Washington Rescue Squad.

A fourth accident occurred at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, May 29 on Route 211, six miles east of Washington when a 1955 Plymouth sedan owned and operated by Gordon Almond Birckhead of Charlottesville and .a 1960 Plymouth driven by James Travis Smoot of Front Royal and owned by Edward Butnbary of Washington, D. C. collided when the Birckhead car stopped in the right lane because of engine trouble, was struck by the Smoot car which was unable to stop due to the wet road.
