Robert E. Hackley
Robert Evans Hackley of Amtssville, age 55, died Monday, May 23, at Fauquier Hospital following a recent illness.
He was a son of James Jackson and Nora Priest Hackley and a native of Culpeper County. He resided in Rappahannock County most of his life, where he was engaged in farming and carpentry.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, May 25, from Amissville Baptist Church of which he was a member. Rev. John B. Hodge, officiated, assisted by Rev. Fletcher Osborne. Osborne. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Arley Estes, Russell Hackley, Louis Hackley, Edward Hackley, Everett Smith, and Charles Henry Hackley.
Mr. Hackley is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Paul Smith, and Mrs. Bernard Weaver of Amissville and Mrs. Ralph Estes of Estes; five brothers, Charlie, Johnny, Willie and George Hackley all of Amissville and Howard Hackley of Estes; an aunt, Mrs. Aubrey Myers of Warrenton and an uncle, Evans Priest of Washington, D. C.
