Will Elect Mayor
Mayor and council ladies of the town of Washington will come up for reelection Tuesday, May 14. Not having qualified 60 days before election, as required by law, the election will be a write-in vote.
Mrs. Morgan Johnston has announced that she is not a candidate — and will not accept the office of council lady if elected. No one has announced any intention of running for office to fill Mrs. Johnston’s seat on the council.
The7 present council consists of the following: Mayor, Mrs. Martha Critzer;" council ladies, Mrs. Dorothy Hawkins, Mrs. A. M. Verner, Mrs. J. W Critzer, Mrs. Edna Way land.
Notice of the time and place of the election is given by the Sheriff of the County to the electors of. the town by causing written or printed notices to be posted at 3 or more public places within the town.
