Hikers Enjoy Nature
Trail Beauty
The Hikers Club left the 80 degree temperature of Rappahannock Sunday afternoon to take the Nature Trail to Stony Man on Skyline Drive where it was 15 degrees cooler. The trail was a mass of color, with all the wild azaelas in full bloom. Many other different wild flowers blended their colors with the pink of the azaleas to make this a beautiful walk.
The trail is marked by more than thirty markers, giving the names of the flowers an<J trees. At 4010, feet Skyland and Luray were visible below. Many other hikers took advantage of the lovely weather and gorgeous color.
The hike continued to Littlfe Stony Man and along the Appalachian Trail back to Skyland.
Those hiking were Barney Pauze, Milton Gore, Jr., Raymond Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Miller aind Mr. and Mrs. Milton Gore.
