The Virginia Division of Forestry’s program on forest conservation and forest improvement continued to increase during the past year due to increased requests for assistance from landowners. With the rapid increase in population and its resulting increase in demand ford forest products, most landowners have become conscious of the value and importance of each acre of land they own. Proper forest management of any timbered area, no matter how small, will give the landowner a greater return.
