So prices'should hold about where they are lor the next few weeks.
But don’t get overly optimistic. Starting in late June, supplies of broilers are scheduled to start upward to a new record high in early August, about six per cent above last year’s record peak.
By the first week in August, supplies will be about 14 per cent above a year ago and prices may go some below last year’s August price of 15 to 16 cents.
Last Week in Virginia, broilers were ranging from 16% to 18 cents. North Carolina and Georgia broilers were mostly 16 cents and Delmarva broilers were 17% to 18 cents.
