Soil Testing

Continued from Page one pies are tested a year a very accurate method must be used.

The samples are dried before grinding and mixing. Then they are taken from the processing room to the testing laboratory. All equipment has been thoroughly cleaned and is in working order. The proper chemical, accurately measured, is added to a carefully measured amount of soil. This liquid is then put in an automatic shaker that insures that all samples have the same amount of mixing.

The liquid is then filtered out and made ready tor the test. Such things as automatic pipettes and other accurate measuring instruments are used to get the exact amounts of chemicals. The laboratory makes its own distilled water that is autignatically put into clean storage jars.
