Boxwoods fro m Washington, Virginia,| “the first Washington of all”, are being taken tip and transported to Washington, l). C., to be planted around the new State Department Annex.
To meet the requirements of the landscaper, tree box were sought for the ijourt of the building and, after scouring the countryside, they were found in Rappahannock. The evergreens had to be at least 20 feet tall.!
Some of the trees were taken from the home ol Mr. and Mrs. George M. Davis. Jr. who had just recently ! almost cut them down. Others we re gotten from the Bow(n ,'M.;x;.ty and from Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Jenkins’.
The boxwood-, are estimated to be over 11 (X) years old and were planted bv a Mr. Nichols around his house which has since burned.
C. S. Sanders of Amissville, who was wonting under Hodgins and Gilliam of Upperville. helped in the removal of the evergreens, which were estimated to weigh between five and six ton with the enormous ball of dirt that was necessary to insure successful removal.

Chest X-Rays
A tabulation of the; free chest x-rays taken in Rappahannock County last week by the mobile unit is ap follows:
SperryVille 60; Washington 69; Chester Gap 61; Flint Hill 67: Amissville 89, making a total of 355 as compared with 280 in 1958, when the mobile unit was last in the county .
The x-ray unit was in the county for t|iree days and the oldest persons getting an x-ray each dav were Mr. Walter Rector 92 of Sprrryville; Mr. Philip Fincham. Chester Gap 84: and Mr. W. S. Brady of Flint Hill, 86. Each of these people were given $5.00.
