“Grandma Miller” came bouncing into the News Office Tuesday to-tell me about the escapade of the evening before. As you know, Carl and Paula Howell are the proud parents of a daughter, hence the “Grandma Miller.” Well, enroute to the hospital in Front Royal, they unfortunately* had a flat tire
and discovered they had no jack. Nothing else to do but hitch hike in a hurry. A kind lady and gentleman, tourists front Ohio, came to their assistance and took them to the hospital. As it happened, the gentleman's knowledge was not needed, but he happened to be a member of a city rescue squad. You read about and hear about such things, but seldom run into an actual case.
