Beef Cow Culling

Owners of commercial cow herds need to increase and irnprove culling arid selection of their brood cows. Recent inspections of cowherds with inspection committees of the various feeder calf sales show there are too many off colored cows, old cows, and cows extremely late in calving. All prove costly.
First of all (.one of the feeder calf sales accept cross-bred calves. By now most farmers realize organized marketing of well packaged articles are musts. Start planning now to get rid of those blue and strawberry faces . . . that is

if you sell through a feeder calf sale which usually is highly profitable ($10.00-$20.00 increase per head).
Remember too cross-breeding is still a controversial issue. Research completed to date on this is limited in beef caftle. Personally, I question highly! its advantages to any phase of the beef cattle industry. Definitely cross breeding is deterimental to the calf sale consignor.
