Brush Burning Law

Beginning March 1st through May ISth, open fires of any type are unlawful if within 300 feet of woodland or debris, except between the hours of 4.00 p.m. and midnight.

With the approach of warm and windy weather in March, we should be especially careful of our burring at any time. Never burn until after 4:00 p.m.; have sufficient tools and help and be sure fire is out before leaving it unattended.

If you see an escaped or unattended fire please report it to your lookout tower, YU 7-2449 or Raymond Johnson, County Fire Warden, YU 7-2443 or your nearest volunteer fire department or local warden.
