Proposed Tax Levy
Rate Increase
A public hearing will be held at the court house, Washington, Va., Wednesday, May 10 at 10 a.m. DST, to approve or disapprove the proposed increase in tbe tax levy rate. Opinions will be voiced and petitions heard at that time.
The Board of Supervisors will vote on the proposal.
May Day Program At Sperryville School
Sperryville Elementary School will hold its annua] May Day Program in the school auditorium on Friday, May 5 at 1:15 p.m. and on Saturday, May 6 at 1 p.m. The theme is “Symbols of Democracy.”
Patrons and other visitors are requested to attend on Friday if possible.
Dance Saturday For High School Students
Saturday night, a dance for high school students, grades 8 to 12, will be held at Flint Hill Fire Hall. Dancing begins at 8 pjn. and will be concluded at 11 p.m. Admission is 50 cents. Refreshments, hot dogs, soft drinks, etc. will be on sale. Proceeds will be used for the purchase of recreational equipment, pjhg pong equipment, etc, for use by the young people.
Chaperoning the dance will be Mr. and Mrs. 'Emory Russell, Rev. and Mrs. Warren Wilbur, Mrs. Joel Jenkins and Mrs. Mary Krause.
