Complete Sale Plans
The Ladies Auxiliary, Washington Fire Company, devoted most of the meeting held Monday evening to malting plans for the Rummage Sales which will begin Friday, May 7 at the Cary building on Main Street.
Before taking up the forthcoming sale for discussion, members of the group were much upset ove^ the announcement by one of the ladies that the “pants” had .been lost and efforts to locate them had been futile. They were last seen at “Skipper's” Store.
The pants referred to were the ones of the “Patch the Pants Project.” They were to move up and down the streets, stopping at each house for a patch, a contribution to the auxiliary concealed under it. They jyere very valuable “pants” and were destined to become more and more so as they traveled around town.
After much telephoning by Mrs. C. T. Bruce and Mrs. ■ R. L. Cheatham, the “pants” were located. Mrs. B. R. Cox announced that the “pants” would start traveling the next dhy and the ladies feeling sure they would, with Mrs. Cox behind them, moved on to further business.
Mrs. A. M. Hickman, President of the Auxiliary, read a letter from Mrs. B. R. Armel, Secretary of the Rappahannock Rescue Squad asking them to enter a float in their carnival parade to be held in
