Truck Overturns
Pinning Down Driver
'Yestcday morning on Route 55 near the Wine Trailer Court in Front Royal, a two-ton dump truck was forced into a ditch ard overturned. The driver Melvin Williams, 22 of A.nissville was trapped in the cab cf the practically new' Chevrolet truck with his right leg below the knee wedged between the partially opened door on the right side and the soft dirt of the ditch. Dr. V. J. Malta who had just finished seeing a patient in the trailer court, observed the overturned truck and hurried to give aid. While awaiting the rescue squad ambulance and a wrecker, Dr. Malta administered morphine and calmed the injured man. The crew from Parkway Chevrolet, Billy Funk and Clarence Clifton, hoisted the body of the truck inch by inch under the direction of Dr. Malta. These men worked with precision care as too much pressure in the wrong direction could have caused possible fatal injury to the trapped man.
