Washington Grade
School Exercises
The Washington Elementary School will hold its Commencement Exercises on Monday, June 5, 1961 at 7:30 p.m. (EST), in the school auditorium.
The Rev. Warren Wilbur will lead the devotions after which the twenty-two members pf the graduating class will present “On To The Eighth Grade.” Mr. James W. Eavey, Director of Instruction for Warren-Rappahannock Counties, will be the speaker for the evening. The presentation of the certificates will be made by Q. D. Gasque, Superintendent of Schools, assisted by Mr. Martin L. Cline, principal.
Parents and friends of the students and the school are cordially invited to attend the Graduation Exercises.
Queen Contest
Cans for the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department Carnival Queen have been put out at various business places in the area. Vote for the girl of your choice for queen by placing her name in the jar with as many votes as you like at one cent each.
A report on voting will be given in the next issue of this paper.
