Apple Growers To
Discuss Marketing
Apple Growers of this area: Warren, Madison, Fauquier and Rappahannock, will assemble at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 10th at Washington, Va. for the purpose of discussing Federal and' State Marketing orders. Similar discussions are being held among growers all over Virginia’s apple producing belt to acquaint them with the advantages and disadvantages of both State and Federal Marketing Orders, so growers will be in a position to vote intelligently when a referendum ih held this winter to determine what the apple industry will do about the matter.
Mr. B. R. Lacy, III of Warrm County will represent the Virginia State Horticultural Society and serve as moderator of the local get-together. Either Mr. Ed Garland or Mr. John Ligon will represent the State Division of Markets while Mr. Maury Hubbard, Executive Secretary of the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation will represent this organization. Also a representative of the V.P.I. Agricultural Economics Department is expected to be included on the program.
