Apples are cheap. Eating a fresh apple cleans your teeth. Rappahannock has a dental program underway sponsored by local PTA’s and a private organization. Professor Winfrey says, “We have apple hungry youngsters at our schools.”
Under such circumstances would it be wise to develope apple appetites in our youngsters during their habit forming years? You growers, you co-op packing houses might think about this.

The 425 feeder pigs sold at Culpeper Enterprises the last of September averaged $26.47 a hundred weight and grossed $6,948.95. H. B. Wood, Jr. was the only Rappahannock consignor at this sale, however, several of our producers have previously found this system of marketing a successful venture. Nominations for the next sale, to be held the last of November, will be due the end of this month. Interested producers contact my office for forms and rules.
