If you hear of George Davis, Jr. inhabiting the U.S. Patent Office, you will know he is only trying to preserve the right to a most ingenuous invention_his Skunk Elevator, which was devised to remove the skunk'which we reported last week was trapped in a basement in a window well of the Episcopal Church in Washington.
Mr. Davis and Deputy Sheriff Guy Burke constructed a box with a trap door in which they placed 'an over aged dead chicken for bait. The box was suspended from ropes and let down into the well. The cat entered through the trap door and was hoisted out. without creating a disturbance.
