Corn And Grain Sorghum Producers
Corn and grain sorghum producers who intend to plant barley this fall must not plant more than their base acreage of barley if they want to participate in the 1962 feed grain program and be eligible for price support on these two crops.
Com, grain sorghum and spring planted barley producers will be given an opportunity to participate in the 1962 feed grain program next spring. Details of the program as they apply to these producers will be announced later. =, In making their decision to participate in the program, barley producers should consider the savings in planting, cultivating, harvesting and other costs that would be required ort their diverted acres. In addition, producers will have an assurance of income from the acres diverted under the program no matter what might happen to their 1962 crops. By participating, they will also help to solve the feed grain problem which will benefit all producers in yeprs to come, the Secretary said.
