Miss Barbara Louise Jones of Portsmouth, Virginia, and presently employed as Assistant Home Demonstration Agent in pinwiddie County, will assume the duties . of Home Demonstration Agent in Rappahannock County onijanuary 16, 1962. This position has been vacant since November 16, due to the resignation of Miss Anna Ruth Barnette to be married.
Miss Jones'has a B. S. Degree in Home (Economics from the Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas. During her University career, die was an outstanding academic student and was very active in extra-curricular activities of the University juid the Lutheran Church.
She has served as both president and secretary of Chi-Beta, the Student Home Economics Organization and was nominated as the home economist of the year at Texas Christian University. She was a member of the University Chorus and the University. Singers. In her assistant position in Dinwiddie County, she has shown real interest and potential in the home economics program of that county and will serve the people of Rappahannock in a very fine manner.
She was recommended to fill . this position by Miss Eva Minix, District Home Demonstration Agent, at the December meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County. She was unanimously accepted by the Board.
