Wharton
Conner Thomas Wharton of Culpeper died Sunday, December 24, at his residence, following a recent illness. Son of Mrs. Nora Alice Haynes Wharton of Amissville and the late Conner William Wharton, and a native of Rappahannock County, he was 38.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura Wharton, and two daughters, Doris and Shirley Wharton, all of Culpeper; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Compton of Castleton, Mrs. Virgie Peyton of Amissville, and Mrs. Stella Jenkins of Baltimore, Md.; and one brother, Roy Wharton of Amissville.
Funeral services , were held Tuesday, December 26, from the Geest funeral chapel, the Rev. Glenn C. Oldaker officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were James Lee Atkins, Billy L. Fincham, Floyd B. Hitt, Bud W. Wharton, LeRoy Hawking Charles Fox, Ashby Jenkins and Waverly Frazier.
