Shiloh Association -
To Hold Music School
The Shiloh Baptist Association, an association of forty churches in Culpeper, Orange, Madison, Greene, and Rappahannock Counties, and affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, is sponsoring two schools of music the week of Novjember 5-9. These schools will be held at Ruckersvilla Baptist Church and at New Salem Baptist Church, the lat> ter on route 522 about five miles west of Culpeper. These schools, running simultaneous* ly, will begin each evening at 7:15, with classes in reading music, hymn playing and a class for pastors. At 8:20, following a brief intermission, there will be a choral laboratory, ending at 9:15. On the last night of the schools Friday, there will be a joint meeting at the Culpeper Baptist Church, at which time there will be a summary of the pastors' class, the choral laboratory presentation, and a social hour.
The Virginia Baptist Training Union Department is furnishing the teachers for these schools. Robert Renfro of the First Baptist Church in Charlottesville, Mrs. Robert L. Bailey of Courtland, and Jack Carter of the First Church In Newport News, are the faculty for the New Salem School. Harry E. Forbes of the Culpeper Church, Miss Charlotte Walker of Hatcher Memorial Baptist Church ia Richmond, and Max*. tin Bridges of Crewe will teach at the Ruckersvilla mu ale school. These workers will be guests in the homes of tM Shiloh Association member* while serving in the area.
