SperryviUe Fire Depart-1 ment grossed $11,000 on their annual carnival which closed Saturday night, according to company president, Robert F. Estes. He stated that this is the most successful carnival to date in the seven years which the events have been held. ; Parade units awarded; prizes were Centreville Vol. I Fire Co., best pumper over1 500 population; Pen-Daw, | second. Brandy Station Vol. Fire Co., best pumper under 500 population; The Plains, second. Pen-Daw • Company came the longest distance and the best Rescue Squad was Lorton with Culpeper second. Amlssvllle Ladles Auxiliary marched to another first place with Warrenton Rebelettes taking first in majorette group and Marshall Stepettes running second. Charles Town Brass Band was first in that group competition and Coca-Cola received the best float award.' Miss Kay Johnston, Honorary Fire Chief of Washington Fire Co. placed first and Tutwieler Brothers of Culpeper were awarded first for their antique car. Best appearing marching unit was New Market Firemen and the comic entry award went to Mountain Craft Gift Shop,
