LUidy, Judy Kay Atkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Atkins, was named Queen of the festivities Friday night. Frank Huff, Washington, was given the pony, which his children are enjoying. The grand prize, a Fairlane Ford, was given to D.
T Jackson Miller of Sperryville. Floyd E. Smith, Jr., Timberville got the $50 savings bond; L. J. Kilby, Sperryville, the $2$ savings bond; Edward Lawrence, Amlssville, the 20 silver dollars and the battery went to A. L. White of Warrenton. Wonderful weather prevailed until Saturday when two showers interrupted the carnival progress, but did not dampen the spirits of those attending, who after a brief interval in their cars, returned to the grounds to swell the record attendance. President Estes and Chief John W. Jenkins expressed their appreciation to all who attended, contributed and worked for the success of the four night carnival.

Robert W. Brown of Sperryville has filed a petition as a candidate in the general election in November for member of the Board of Supervisors from Piedmont District. E. M. Estes is the democratic nominee, defeating Frank Brown in the July primary.
